A Healthy Lifestyle
Uzbekistan is famous for its traditional cuisine, which has something for even the choosiest eaters. It can also be a little heavy if you’re not used to it, and is best paired with lighter and healthier dishes. Nutritionist Olesya Kurbanova shares her insights about healthy eating and her experience in this field.
Maintaining your health involves creating a lifestyle that works for you. The most essential components of a healthy lifestyle include a balanced diet, daily routine, sleep, work and rest, physical movement and regular visits to the doctor for prevention, as well as keeping stress levels under control. And in fact, this list can even be expanded.
The concept of a healthy lifestyle has become trendy in modern times. Finally, people are beginning to understand that the best investment in a happy future is an investment in their health and in their bodies. We understand that through physical exercise, staying active and eating healthy foods, we maintain a strong body, clear mind, high immunity and zest for life. The standard of living is improving qualitatively. If we consciously choose this path today and approach this process with responsibility, then we will be able to lay the foundation for many generations to come, as well as prolong our own lives and preserve our bodies for many years.
The question is, where to start? How can we awaken ourselves and find the strength to make healthy changes?
I
First and most importantly, ask the question, “Why do I need to do this?” Be honest with yourself.
II
Go to a specialist for a consultation. Competent specialists and you will form the first steps to properly plan your path to a healthy lifestyle.
III
It is necessary to undergo an examination and pass a number of tests. I mean, how often do we carry out diagnostics on our cars, for example? The same should be true with our bodies. The body is a unique machine, and by checking in with your body regularly and having a medical check-up regularly (ideally, every six months), we can prevent a number of diseases at an early stage through prevention.
IV
After your medical check-up, you can start to make choices about your lifestyle, including what you spend your time doing during the day, how you maintain sleep hygine, and nutrition. Allocate an hour to 90 minutes for training, which can be varied, depending on what goals you are pursuing and what results you want to achieve. Add de-stressing to your programme (spa treatments, therapy, reading self-help books, meditation, mindfulness, and breathing exercises are just some of the options).
Fortunately, there are now many different services, food options and lifestyle choices that can help us all lead healthy, strong and happy lives. We just have to start!
